On February 8, 1955, plaintiff filed an application with the industrial commission for compensation for occupational deafness. The commission denied compensation. On April 3, 1956, plaintiff brought an action for review. The circuit court entered judgment November 18, 1959, setting aside the commission's order, and remanding the case for further proceedings. The industrial commission and the International Harvester Company appealed. Discher has worked for International Harvester since 1937. Starting in 1941, he worked in the forge shop where there was sufficient noise to impair his hearing upon exposure over a period of time. He realized by 1945 that he was becoming deaf as a result of his work. He has not, however, been discharged or transferred, and has not ceased his work nor sustained wage loss due to his loss of hearing. He did not sustain any accidental injury causing the loss of hearing.
